I'm Bob, a 24-year-old Computer Science graduate student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I received my Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from Poly in June of 2010.
My graduate focus is in graphics, although I also enjoy security and embedded systems. I've done projects ranging from synchronizing the Christmas lights on my house to music, to designing vehicle electronics for the Cal Poly Supermileage Team, to writing a GPGPU Monte Carlo ray tracer in CUDA.
I currently work as a Code Junkie at iFixit, where I work on everything from backend sysadmin type things to frontend JavaScript, but I'm spending most of my time on the translation system for our guide software, Dozuki.
I've also worked for Cisco Systems. I wrote an internal SNMP performance testing tool for their biggest and baddest routers, and worked in their R&D group developing UI prototypes for some patent-pending tech on a currently unannounced Cisco platform.
I'm also in the process of kicking off an indie game startup with a good friend of mine, Kevin Whipp. Stay tuned, or keep checking the 5tubborn Studios website for more information.

My blog is entitled SIGTTOU. That's the UNIX signal that a process is sent when it's in the background and tries to write to the terminal. I like to think of my blog as the place where all my background projects get to write to the terminal.

If you're a generic recruiter or head hunter, please don't bother contacting me, I'm not interested.
However, if you represent a specific company, feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email. Let's meet up and talk about how we can work together.
